Teacher of the Day was presented to us by Jackie this week. She turned 7 in June, and will begin the second grade this year. She has a great love for animals so I can imagine we will be seeing a lot of animal related education from her in the future.
Being her first week teaching, she was a little scared, and not sure what to do. My oldest daughter Jasmine helped her print pictures and conduct her research. She presented her board to us, and showed us cute pictures of dogs. (her presentation is not filmed per her request)
Snack: Sugar Cookie Dog Bones
We used a recipe found at The Food Network by my kids’ favorite chef, Alton Brown. I made the dough the night before and allowed her to roll it out and control the cookie cutter. Everyone loved them and gobbled them all up without discussion.
Activity: Draw your pet art competition
Jackie asked her siblings to draw a picture of their favorite pet and the winner would be the first to receive a doggy treat. Jonathan won with his picture of… what we think is our dog Titan.
Activity/Snack: Drink like a dog race

I really love this idea Victoria! I am thinking of incorporating it into our schedule once a month or so! I’m enjoying your articles!
I love the drink like a dog race! The kids would have so much fun with that!
She wanted them to do an eating race like a dog and I had to suggest they not. I don’t like food races – the choking possibility scares me.
I loved her art work the drink like a dog competition not so much. strange things people think of but I suppose the kids thought it was fun. I have a niece that loves dogs too
It is interesting to see what a 7 year old can come up with.
The drink like a dog competition is hilarious- my kids would LOVE that!
