**Before I begin though I must point out that popcorn is a choking hazard – especially for children under five.**

Popcorn is a healthy and inexpensive snack!! So to create a whole party around it is exciting because there is so much to do!

You can have a taste off and have everyone bring a different flavor of popcorn.  I remember a school field trip when I was younger to the Coca Cola Factory in Atlanta, GA.  It was neat to taste different flavors of coke from all over the world.  I also remember that most of them were nasty but it was still fun.  I do not really like soda but I do love popcorn!

I saw a great recipe for microwave popcorn at Adventures In Homeschooling’s page that my family now LOVES. It is so simple that I feel really dumb for ever buying microwave popcorn in the store. I put 1/3 cup of kernels in a brown paper bag and fold it down about 4 times. I pop them for 1 minute and 30 seconds in my microwave. Microwave times vary. I’d try it at 1 minute and 45 seconds and pull it out once popping stops or slows too much. Again, Tawnee at Adventures in Homeschooling is a genius! :)
