To help you prepare for the upcoming week here are some ideas of topics you might want to discuss or days to celebrate. The third week of May this year starts off with….drum roll, please … Mother’s Day!!
May 13th – Mother’s Day. There are a lot of great craft ideas out there. Pinterest has a ton of boards and I do mean a TON for Mother’s Day. Click here to browse them all. Or you can check out DenSchool’s pinterest board for Mother’s Day. Of course there is life beyond pinterest. Kaboose has some poems, recipes, cards, crafts etc. Or if Mother’s Day is not for you celebrate Frog Jumping Day.
Right in line with Mother’s Day is the beginning of National Family Month which is May 13 – June 17. Take some extra time to enjoy your family, do some activities and truly show your love!
May 14th Dance Like a Chicken Day – celebrate by learning the Chicken Dance. Or you can study the Beginning of the Lewis and Clark Expedition
May 15th is another yummy holiday – National Chocolate Chip Day. Enjoy some yummy chocolate chip cookies or Double Chocolate Chunk cookies or dress up for Straw Hat Day or honor officers with Police Officer’s Memorial Day.
May 16th – National Sea Monkey Day, National Wear Purple for Peace Day or if you did not show enough love on Arbor Day try celebrating Love a Tree Day.
May 17th is Pack Rat Day – you might want to check out the show Hoarder’s. It might just motivate you to celebrate in the opposite way – by cleaning or removing clutter.
May 18th - No Dirty Dishes Day – use paper plates!!

More May 18th – International Museum Day – I love it when it is an international holiday – imagine people all over the world celebrating with you! Find a museum near you. And, since we live in Central Florida I had to include NASCAR Day. This is actually my son’s birthday and he will be thrilled beyond belief to know that his birthday is also all about noisy race cars.
May 19 Armed Forces Day – Great school activities and fun things from pinterest loacated on the May Ideas board. Then enjoy Circus Day, Boy’s Club Day, Visit Your Relatives Day or National Devil’s Food Cake Day (someone coming up with theses holidays is addicted to chocolate)
