Looking for a fun way to play with words? I saw this fantastic freebie on my homeschooling group tonight and I couldn’t resist playing with it! It is called Wordle. It is a free “word cloud” generator and is a lot of fun. Imagine what you could have your children do with this? Here are a few of my ideas for fun with Wordle:
Spelling list fun! What child wants to look at a white sheet of paper when studying their spelling? Let them create something they will want to look at everyday!
Any subject you are focusing on single word memorization: States, Capitals, Countries, Character Traits, Books of the Bible, Vocabulary, Presidents, Names in History, Inventions…. anything!
Need some family bonding? Have your children create Wordle’s for each of their siblings using words they think or feel describe that particular sibling.
Tip: When using first and last names or two word states – make sure to remove the space between them. You don’t want your children thinking “Mexico” is a state too! (smile)
Oh, and in case you want to know more about Denschool:
I even enjoyed looking through their gallery at other people’s Wordles. I hope you enjoy this Fantastic Freebie Alert as much as I did!
