This is clearly not the usual Holiday Celebration but I thought that the topic was absolutely worthy of reflection. The topic of abortion is a serious subject and Roe vs. Wade is a landmark case of the Supreme Court. In fact, to some, the outcome of the case is nothing to celebrate at all. So January 22nd should be a day of teaching about what abortion is and understanding the facts based on a person’s worldview. But to help round out the day, I have also added some links and information about the Supreme Court.

Roe vs. Wade/ Supreme Court CLIP

This is definitely great information for the older child.
I agree. I didn’t use it for my tweens. We have barely had “the talk” with them and I don’t think they are ready to discuss abortion. I’m not exactly sure when I will discuss that with them. There is a fine line between wanting to nurture some innocence and what they will learn on their own from other sources. I try to hold off for as long as possible but try to hone in on a topic just before it arises before them from an unreliable source (their peers or an opinionated family member)
My son has learned about this already (he is 17); however, down the road this would be good for my younger children when they get a little older.
Even though it is controversial, it’s still part of our history. Good info for an older child learning about the court system and Supreme Court. Thanks!
It is tough to figure out at what age you should share things with a child but this is an important part of our history that needs to be taught to the right demographic group.
Great CLIP for older kids learning about the Supreme Court! Thanks so much!
